FAQ

When are appointments available?

Currently, we have availability for all appointment types on Saturdays at 11am, 1230pm, and 2pm AEST/AEDT.

Where are you located?

We are based out of Sydney, Australia, but all sessions are hosted online via Google Meet videochat. Please note that whilst all appointments are virtual, we can only provide services to Australian residents.

How do I book an appointment?

To request a booking, please get in touch with us by sending a message via our "Contact Us" page or emailing us directly on admin@paperbarknutrition.com. Once we have received your request, we will reply via email providing you with our current availability and next steps.

Do I need a referral to see a Dietitian?

No, a referral is not required to book in with our Dietitians. However, you are eligible for a Medicare rebate if you have a Chronic Disease Management/Enhanced Primary Care Plan or Eating Disorder Care Plan from your GP.

I don't have an eating disorder diagnosis, can I still use your service?

Yes, of course! Whilst our Dietitians are specialists in treating eating disorders, you don't need a formal diagnosis to see us. If you feel you struggle with your relationship with food and/or body image, we can help! If you are unsure if we are the right service for you, please feel free to get in touch with us to discuss.

What can I expect when seeing a Dietitian?

During your first appointment, a comprehensive nutrition assessment will be completed. This is an opportunity for us to get to know you better and understand your concerns and goals. In ongoing sessions, you will receive support related to your goals, which may include discussing specific and relevant nutrition topics. All sessions are personalised to you. Our Dietitians work from a CBT-E and Health at Every Size framework and provide evidence-based treatment. You will always receive clear, compassionate, non-judgmental, and supportive communication in sessions.

How many sessions will I need?

How many sessions you require will depend on your personal circumstances and goals. Some individuals may find they only require a handful of sessions whilst others may benefit from more regular therapy. The frequency and number of expected sessions will be discussed with you during your first appointment and will be reviewed regularly during your treatment.
